Tom Casciero is an Associate Professor of Theatre at Towson University in the USA. He trains performing artists in movement; voice/movement integration; movement theatre techniques and devised theatre. He is also a Certified Movement Analyst and Research Associate for the Laban Institute of Movement Studies in New York.
Tom received his Ph.D. in Theatre in 1998, and his thesis, Laban Movement Studies and Actor Training, is a contextual essay and teaching manual for training actors in physical awareness and expressivity. He has taught Laban Movement for actors as an Overseas Fellow and visiting scholar at the University of Pretoria and Pretoria Technikon University in South Africa and has taught as a guest artist at Festivals, Universities and Movement Institutes. His research has been presented in articles, at dozens of Theatre Conferences, and at four major International Laban Conferences - Rio de Janeiro, Amherst, Minneapolis, and Baltimore.
He is also a performer and director, having toured his solo performances of comedy and physical theatre nationally and internationally. He has directed regional and university theatre and taught for colleges, theaters, and festivals. He has served as movement coach/consultant for over 35 university and professional productions.
At Towson University he developed a movement theatre training and performance opportunity within the Acting Program and arranged movement workshops by national and international movement theatre artists. In addition, he was the liaison, co-producer, and onsite director for the Mid-Atlantic Movement Theatre Festival. He is also the past Vice President of the Association of Theatre Movement Educators.

Ako performer a režisér sa so svojimi sólovými predstaveniami komédie a fyzického divadla predstavil na národných aj medzinárodných scénach. Režíroval oblastné a univerzitné divadlá a učil na vysokých školách, divadlách a festivaloch. Pracoval ako pohybový pedagóg / konzultant pre viac ako 35 univerzitných a profesionálnych produkcií.
Na Towson University vytvoril pohybový divadelný tréning a uvedenie predstavení v rámci hereckého programu a organizoval pohybové wokshopy amerických i zahraničných divadelných umelcov zameraných na pohyb. Bol tiež sprostredkovateľom, ko-producentom a režisérom na Mid-Atlantic Movement Theatre Festival. Bol aj vice-prezidentom v Association of Theatre Movement Educators.
