This dancer-choreographer, guided by instinct and steadfastness, has from childhood been reared on classical dance. For Nathalie Pernette, dance has a real shape mostly because she trained with Francoise and Dominique Dupuy. After ending a twelve-year co-operation with Andréas Schmidt, she founded her own company. Her previous work remained in his repertory. In 13 years in seven pieces (six of them in collaboration with Andréas Schmidt) Nathalie turned time into her main luxury and work into her main virtue. Film and visual arts were a source of inspiration, which she tapped at the beginning of her career and to which she can always look back. In her pieces she returns to the search of the relationship between dance and matter.

I have always adored hip-hop… What concentration of skill, marvellous movements
of body… It is practically an abstract dance, requiring a total commitment from the choreographer and the dancer performing it. I began to create „Delightful“ with a feeling
of fear but I finished it feeling happy, sharing this feeling with the young, enthusiastic and generous group. It was a wonderful encounter. In the choreography I put into contrast the devilish mechanism of the body and music: Inventions of J.S. Bach for the piano. Delightful is a refreshing dialogue taking place in space, where you can feel the smell of an 18th century parlour…“
