LISHE Taliansko/Italy

28.máj, 20:00 Divadlo Aréna/The Arena Theatre
The contemporary dance company Lishe was founded in 2003 by Cristiano Fabbri and Simone Magnani. They had met in 1995 at an opera performance in the Carla Felice Theatre and for several years they worked together in the Arbalete Association in Genoa. They both have experience from different professional dance and theatre companies and in Lishe they use this experience for their choreographic work. Their dance company is characterised through distinctive movement activity with gentle lyrical gestures visible beneath. Contemporary dance is a language with a huge potential of expression.
In 1998 they were invited to the „Mediterraneo’s Festival“, where they met and worked with the Sufi Community of Dervisci Mevlevi from Istanbul. From this experience grew their desire to dig in the cultural and religious roots of Italian people and their lives. Their pieces raise new questions about the reflections of a man’s life through dance as well as about the way, how a male dancer comes to term with these questions in every-day life. Their performances investigate the possibilities of a physical and spiritual integrity, which eventually finds its expression in „theatre rituality“.

Choreografia a tanec/Choreography and dance: Cristiano Fabbri, Simone Magnani
Hudba/Music: Cristiano Fabbri a Simone Magnani

Cristiano Fabbri and Simone Magnani search the private intimacy to express it clearly and in detail. Intimacy becomes the road to the core of the story, which connects the choreographer and the dancers into composite images. In these images, dancers reveal the purity of their characters. Choreography exists thanks to a concrete need, it comes from a moment and develops in every action and movement. The space is full of encounters and suspensions in movement. These suspensions help the dancers to create the unexpected. Their work is physical, but at the same time the fluidity of the movement makes their gestures lyrical.
