27. máj 20:00 Divadlo Aréna/The Arena Theatre

The objective of the DAJV company is to promote originality, progressiveness and communication of the dance expression as well as a close co-operation with other art media. The ambition of the company is to make full use of the great potential of talented dancers and the experience of a choreographer, who has been working on the independent Slovak dance scene for 14 years.
Members of the group are professional dancers Danuša Hruškovičová, Linda Konrádová, Yuri Korec, Andrej Petrovič a Staňa Vlčeková.
Marta Poláková has been an independent contemporary dance choreographer since the early 1990s, when she founded a dato (1990 – 1999), the first group of professional dancers presenting contemporary dance in Slovakia. Marta Poláková has received several scholarships and danced in projects of acclaimed choreographers Matthew Hawkins, Pauline deGroat, Bill Young and Randy Warchaw. Between 1995 and 1996 she co-operated with the Austrian choreographer Willi Dorner. Their piece Though I closed myself as fingers was showed at the Bratislava in Movement Festival 1997. Since 1994 Marta Poláková has taught at the dance department of the Academy of Music and Drama, currently she is working on her PhD.
Not just body, presented at last year’s festival, was highly acclaimed by critics as well as audience. In the 2003 / 2004 season the piece has been regularly performed in the Aréna Theatre and has been successfully presented abroad (Great Britain, Ireland).

Some bonds in life last for long. Encounters and separations are always the same story, in which we alternately taste understanding and pain like on a swing.

The choreography is part of a new programme being prepared by this independent art group.
